Behind the scenes at the Nutcracker

It's almost show time everyone!

No time to strike a pose mice! You have to prepare for

battle! You too Baby Mouse!

A soldier mouse prepares for battle as he looks on at the Nutcracker center stage.

Clara, played by Tiffany Jones, mimics the motions of the baby butterflies while in the Land of the Sweets.

The Bon-Bons are every young ballerina's favorite part.

The small "Flowers" prove they've got the delicate and powerful moves just like the older flowers.

All the "Flowers" captivate the stage during the Waltz of the Flowers.

"Small Flowers" are eye locked on their senior "Flowers" take the stage.

Crystal Brothers and Johathan Powell of Ballet Memphis, guest star in Ballet Yuma's
performance of the Nutcracker as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.

A younger ballerina playing a "Flower" enviously looks on back stage at the Nutcracker performance as veteran prima ballerina, Crystal Brothers, brilliantly dances the breathtaking part of the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Grand Pas de Deux.

Mariah Werley is mezmorized backstage while she admires the graceful edler dancers. I think Mariah here could be an inspiration for a Degas.

Up all night you think of things to do.

I’ve had the idea to do this for a while just haven’t taken the time to set it up and do it. I remember some others posted things similar to this, making composites of several photos I guess when your wife is at work all night you’ll find things to do. I guess there are worse things I could be doing. Don’t read too much into the photo though. I just thought it would be an interesting photo. I did intentionally wear the red and white shirt though. Kind of a bullshit reference to good and evil you know??

Chistmas Banquet .... the end !!!

The Christmas tree reflects that Christmas is coming very soon; however, it also reflects that the banquet and my photo essay finally came to the end. ^^

Christmas banquet continue...

Yuma Cental Seventh day adventist church members are having a great time in the Christmas Banquet. They were eating a nice meal, chatting with others, and also watching the bell choir performance all together.

The bell choir members are going to perform their last song in the Christmas banquet; they said this is their first performance of the year, and they enjoy it really much.

SOUTHGATE VS. YUMA PALMS On a Friday afternoon, dangerously close to Christmas 2007, the bigger, newer and more extravagant Yuma Palms Mall wins the shopping match against Southgate Mall, which used to be the only mall or 'small' in the Yuma Region.
Top) The numerous shops in the food court area of the new mall are frequented by many this afternoon.
2nd from top) The old mall indoor shops are either gated or empty this same afternoon.
Middle) What used to be a busy toy store and bustling arcade near one of the entrances of the Southgate Mall are now a memory.
2nd from bottom) The Yuma Palms parking lot rarely has a vacancy.
Bottom) The barren parking lot of the old mall is a common sight since the opening of The Yuma Palms shopping mecca.

Top) The JcPenney store in the new mall is a popular spot all year long.

Middle) You can see from the outside of the JcPenney's that they are a major contender in the shopping wars this season.

Bottom) The former JcPenney store at the Southgate Mall has been stagnant since its closure.

Photo Essay

(Top)- Hoping to win it big this woman plays one of the many slot machines in the city Thursday night. Slot machines and the people who play them are the biggest form of income for the casinos. (2nd Down)- The pace of the city has become too much for this man. Sitting outside the Margaritaville restaurant, a man takes a quick cat nap on Monday afternoon. (3rd Down)- Life moves at a hectic pace in Las Vegas. The people moving through the Venetian Tuesday morning were no different than could be seen anywhere else in the city. (4th Down)- Wednesday night a child sits in awe of the fish tank in the Cesar’s Palace Forum shops. Even with all the things geared towards adults, the city makes a big effort to make things family friendly. (5th Down)- A man outside the Luxor works on his blackberry Wednesday afternoon while waiting for the monorail. This gentleman proves that even in Vegas the work never stops. Vegas is a top destination for conferences for businesses. (Bottom)- Progress never stops in Las Vegas. Late Monday night the Frontier Hotel and Casino was torn down. The Casino stood for sixty five years and will be replaced in the name of bigger and better things.
