I have seen photos like this and wanted to try it. I did not take the time to set it up or find some willing to sit still for me though. Looks good. Wonder how much closer you could get?? You probably have a lens better suited for it than I do.
This image uses nice light that gives the shot a dramatic sensation. The light behind you makes a nice, unusual catchlight in the eye. Cool.
I've got this awesome 105mm macro lens that's designed for dental work. It's an old, manual focus lens, but we should play with it in class.
Like a lot of my lenses it's got a few dents and dings, and doesn't focus smoothly, but for a shot like this, it's a really cool tool.
The reason I mention it is because I find Denisha's image a little soft. It looks like you cropped it a lot. This lens will get right up to your face and we won't have to crop it.
