Painting Roses

While taking photos of a bouquet of flowers, I decided to add some paint and brushes. The look was to imply that the roses had been freshly painted. This was one image that I achieved the look I wanted.

I think that you achieved what you wanted to do. Maybe if some of the background was not as bright it would have been better. I like it though. The photo does look similar to a painting. Good idea. I like a lot of the stuff you've put on. I'm going to have to start picking your brain.

Again, remember my job is to critique and offer perspective.

The image is strong and has appeal. Robert is right about the background.

But I notice it's composition is quite similar to the peppers and the bug.

I would like to see that same image with more dramatic lighting.

You could even make the identicial composition, but do it on a table next to an open window and use the window light as side light and let the background fall to black.

Wow - I was going to leave a comment about Alice in Wonderland -- painting the roses red!! I thought that would be an obscure reference!! Very cool. One of the most visually beautiful Disney films.
