Big Red Fender

Here is a car from a car show that I used Photoshop on, was fun, the sky was so blownout from noon sunshine that I decided to add the clouds and make the car really show up, I liked the angle of the picture, but hated the bright white sky, so I added the clouds?

I like the look of it. I can relate to having to fight that balance between the sky and the subject. I have some photos from the last Midnight@the Oasis that I may put on. What I found worked well was to use a pretty small f-stop (so the sky would come out) and then use a flash to help light the subject.

I like this too. It has a very artistic feel to it. It almost appears to be a painting more than a photo.

I'll have to teach you guys some ways to bring those clouds in. You can bracket your exposures (using a tripod) and then merge the layers you like. Or you can use neutral density filters to level out the tonal range. Then you can also use your flash and carefully expose for both the sky and foreground.

This is one of the reasons we sometimes try to avoid shooting between 10 a.m and 2 p.m. They sky is so bright, particularly at those times, that it is hard to get good looking sky and foreground in the same image.
